Iwate Prefecture – Geodude: Has hands on rocks.
Miyagi Prefecture – Lapras: A riding Pokémon. It is hoped that many people will ride Lapras and travel through the affected areas in the prefecture after the disaster.
Fukushima Prefecture – Lucky: Said to bring good fortune. Associated with “fortune.”
Fukui Prefecture – Dragonite: Many dinosaur fossils have been excavated in Fukui.
Tottori Prefecture – Sandshrew: Prefers sandy areas. From the Tottori Sand Dunes.
Mie Prefecture – Oshawott: Mie can also be read as “Mijuu.”
Kagawa Prefecture – Slowpoke: Sounds similar to “udon.”
Kochi Prefecture – Swampert: Matches the image of clear streams like the Shimanto River.
