[Fighting game] Mysterious protagonist posting

Wow, it’s Ruby Heart!! Ruby Heart!? That Ruby Heart!? She made her debut as a main character on the Capcom side in the fighting game “Marvel vs. Capcom 2”, and about 10 years ago, there was a mobile game with Ruby Heart as the main character, but it ended service. As a result, the character is still not well known. Due to storage limitations, not only were individual ending scenes cut, but even victory messages were eliminated, so we still don’t know much about her personality or even her first-person perspective. There are many unclear points in her character setting.

1: Japan Otaku Reviews

Aren’t you sad even though you’re the main character?

2: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx20

Isn’t it just a character with empty character design?

13: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>2

In other words, a nonexistent fighting game character bot…

3: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx7

I was seriously wondering who this person is.

4: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx5

There aren’t many characters in the history of Capcom or the fighting game scene that are this obscure.

Not just a background character that stands out a bit, but a playable character of a lead class.

5: Japan Otaku Reviews

Even Ingrid was popular at first without really understanding it…

6: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx12

I thought it was a character from Marvel.

12: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx6

>>6

I thought we both felt that way, and somehow treated each other as guests.

After the festival ended, I realized that there were people in the group whom I didn’t know at all…

7: Japan Otaku Reviews

By the way, it is treated as a secret in the end credits, so the voice actor is also unknown.

8: Japan Otaku Reviews

It should be better than the two male characters from the 3D version that Ingrid was supposed to appear in…

9: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx4

Moreover, this guy is less known than the cactus.

10: Japan Otaku Reviews

The MVC2 protagonists whose backgrounds are mostly only revealed for characters like SonSon’s granddaughter, SonSon.

11: Japan Otaku Reviews

I investigated, but there were nothing but uncertainties and it was no good.

There really is such an impure main character side…

14: Japan Otaku Reviews

Is there ever a situation where the capacity gets so tight?

22: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx4

>>14

With that many characters, doesn’t it seem likely?

39: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx6

>>14

MVC2 included all the characters from the previous series.

I think it was pretty tight since the slippery-moving character’s animation patterns were cut down.

41: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>39

Isn’t that more about the memory limit of movable characters rather than capacity?

106: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>39

The reason was also that Sentinel couldn’t bring in the parts animation program.

Even the Sega Saturn version reproduced a single character animation pattern, but the stiff motion was a bit sad.

15: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

On the contrary, it’s so obscure that it has a bit of recognition.

16: Japan Otaku Reviews

Even Ingrid doesn’t really understand what I’m saying.

19: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>16

It seems like a typical old lady who looks young.

17: Japan Otaku Reviews

It’s the thing that makes fan creations progress smoothly.

18: Japan Otaku Reviews

I feel like they were saying, “Be free!”

20: Japan Otaku Reviews

Before I can even understand the details, the design, performance, and actions are all so plain that they don’t catch my eye at all and completely fail to leave any impression.

21: Japan Otaku Reviews

“How about putting it in Street 6?”

23: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx13

Even though Ingrid doesn’t fully understand, there is a story and an ending, so she can grasp a certain degree of the characters.

There is no ending or anything here.

43: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>23

There were quite a few opportunities with ZERO3 and PXZ2 on PSP as well.

In ZERO3, there was also a story.

24: Japan Otaku Reviews

It has a Capcom vibe.

25: Japan Otaku Reviews

Sonsong is so cute, isn’t it?

26: Japan Otaku Reviews

It’s really a mystery since it doesn’t appear in any subsequent Marvel vs. Capcom related material.

27: Japan Otaku Reviews

If only there were victory lines…

28: Japan Otaku Reviews

Unlike the easily movable Sonson Amingo.

A strangely quirky movement!

29: Japan Otaku Reviews

This character still has a bit of portrayal with the final boss, and since Sonson is connected to old games, I understand.

What is an aminigo…?

30: Japan Otaku Reviews

There was nothing like secretly inserting hidden characters from our other games, so I really have no idea what they wanted to achieve.

31: Japan Otaku Reviews

https://game.capcom.com/cfn/sfv/column/130589

Ruby-san, who may or may not be related to Ruby Heart.

32: Japan Otaku Reviews

It might come in the next season of Street Fighter 6!

35: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx10

>>32

So, even before being happy or not about the revival…

I don’t understand anything about this person!!

33: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx3

Regardless of Sonson,

I really don’t understand why they tried to include completely original characters named Amingo and Ruby Heart in the title Marvel vs. Capcom…

There are plenty of Capcom characters normally…

34: Japan Otaku Reviews

Poor thing…

36: Japan Otaku Reviews

The size of this game isn’t maxed out or anything, but I guess it’s about the deadline after all.

37: Japan Otaku Reviews

Ingrid has officially participated as a playable character in ZERO 3↑↑.

There have been quite a few guest appearances in other games…

38: Japan Otaku Reviews

It seems that if more people become interested in the Marvel vs. Capcom Collection, there might be a possibility of Ruby and the others coming to Street Fighter 6.

40: Japan Otaku Reviews

I don’t think there will be any significant storage issues since MvC2 is built on NAOMI.

42: Japan Otaku Reviews

Even if you’re resurrected, it’s hard to know how to react.

It’s not about being happy or anything.

45: Japan Otaku Reviews

I don’t understand anything except for defeating the final boss and throwing what seems to be its core into the sea.

By the way, whether a character’s performance is good or bad is not particularly clear.

46: Japan Otaku Reviews

Please also remember Marrow, a new character from Marvel who, despite being on their side, hasn’t had any gameplay, exposure, or even a revival.

48: Japan Otaku Reviews

I wonder if it was created as a pirate-like existence that spans various worlds since it was an All-Star Game.

49: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx5

Direct link to the Nico Nico MUGEN wiki?!??!!

51: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>49

Thank you for the explanation.

50: Japan Otaku Reviews

If I had become a weak character mascot like Roll-chan or Shuma-tan, I would still have some value.

Everything was just too ordinary.

52: Japan Otaku Reviews

Although he is technically the protagonist, his position in the opening is relatively good.

53: Japan Otaku Reviews

The person behind the Touhou Project originally worked at Capcom and was involved in the Marvel series.

They’re sharing various behind-the-scenes stories and development anecdotes on X, so they might talk about these characters someday as well.

54: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

It looks like Asagi.

55: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

There are many questionable techniques like the water pillar and multi-stage charge attacks that may not be allowed, but the game is so amazing that they get overshadowed.

65: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>55

Even Storm has things like pillars and multi-step charges.

That guy is crazy…

56: Japan Otaku Reviews

Since we’re on the team with SonSon, I was wondering if Cactuar and Ruby are descendants of some reggae kids or something.

63: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>56

There is a theory that this is a tribute to Hige Maru.

What is a cactus…

57: Japan Otaku Reviews

I had seen the graphics of this character, but I didn’t know it was that kind of character…

I thought she was just a hentai older sister character.

58: Japan Otaku Reviews

I only remember charging while shouting “Shuvarhea!!”

59: Japan Otaku Reviews

But it’s a huge hit game, so it’s probably better than Ingrid.

60: Japan Otaku Reviews

Huh? Was I the protagonist?

62: Japan Otaku Reviews

By the way, it was a game like this.

Players at that time didn’t gain any knowledge about MARVEL just by playing this game.

I didn’t even know what a black heart was when it comes to heart connections.

66: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>62

What was the purpose of this collaboration game if it just adds characters without any meaning…?

68: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

>>66

No, it had an immense amount of popularity as a game.

There were actually only about 10 characters that existed in reality…

69: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

>>66

It hit normally… mainly in America.

64: Japan Otaku Reviews

Ingrid still gives the impression of occasionally drawing things related to her liking of lolibabas.

67: Japan Otaku Reviews

More miserable than Ingrid… or is it not much different?

70: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx4

>>67

Ingrid has been in a lot of works, hasn’t she?

This guy only has one appearance, and during battles, there’s no element that helps you understand the character.

71: Japan Otaku Reviews

Ruby Heart and Amino have no clue at all.

Nothing at all.

72: Japan Otaku Reviews

I understand why Cable was chosen on the MARVEL side, but honestly, Marrow is a mystery.

90: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>72

I saw and learned about Maro from the translation published by Shogakukan before that.

I wonder if they matched? It really was a mystery if I didn’t think that.

73: Japan Otaku Reviews

Well, the balance adjustments were terrible, and it was said to be Marvel vs. Capcom.

74: Japan Otaku Reviews

It’s like Godzilla’s Bagan.

75: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx2

Ingrid is probably popular.

This guy is unpopular and not recognized.

76: Japan Otaku Reviews

It may raise a question mark when you call it a fighting game, but it’s a game with a one-of-a-kind enjoyment.

77: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

Were the only characters that lived on the Capcom side Ryu, Dhalsim, and perhaps others?

Well, if we go by whether they can breathe, many Marvel characters aside from the top tier can’t breathe…

92: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>77

I’ve been searching for battle videos on YouTube, and the matches featuring lower-tier characters by advanced players were fresh and incredibly entertaining.

With Silver Samurai, Zangief, and Hulk, we can win this much against MSP…

78: Japan Otaku Reviews

Even creating a secondary work doujinshi is a high hurdle for this guy…

I think fan art is the limit.

79: Japan Otaku Reviews

I somehow thought he was a Marvel person, but he’s not…

80: Japan Otaku Reviews

A game where mutants and Sentinels team up and trample over each other happily.

81: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

Even when you see them in action, they really don’t stand out as a character.

82: Japan Otaku Reviews

Even Sonson’s grandson is at least a little better in that his origin is clear…

83: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

>>82

I mean, just bring out Song Song himself.

84: Japan Otaku Reviews

I thought it was someone who was transformed into a woman by Dimitri…

85: Japan Otaku Reviews

I actually thought Anacharis was on the Marvel side too.

86: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

Americans having an obsession with this game.

87: Japan Otaku Reviews

I saw this costume of Rose from Street Fighter 5 more than this one.

88: Japan Otaku Reviews

I love the video of Justin creating an instant death combo with the makeshift team.

89: Japan Otaku Reviews

I can’t figure out who does the voices in MvC2.

97: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>89

It seems that Amino was voiced by Suzumura.

They said that the person spoke on the radio.

91: Japan Otaku Reviews

I liked using Ruby Heart, but…

I thought, why isn’t there a victory line for a capsule character?

It was a 2D Marvel vs. Capcom compilation game that had some wasteful aspects because it included things like cables and some characters that were making their debut.

93: Japan Otaku Reviews

There is a setting where this guy’s ship is transporting the player characters to the final boss.

94: Japan Otaku Reviews

At that time, there was neither a victory message nor dialogue in the ending for Real Bout Garou 2, leading to a situation where the personalities of the new characters Shan-Fae and Rick were not understood.

95: Japan Otaku Reviews

Isn’t having nothing up to this point a form of individuality instead?

96: Japan Otaku Reviews

I have a great memory of having so much fun using Silver Samurai to assist with the Thunderclap Sword.

98: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx6

Other characters are basically heroes that are established in other games or manga, so they don’t need any explanation, but if they have nothing when they first appear, that is just nothing.

99: Japan Otaku Reviews

Is there any chance that the development team will release any internal documents from back then?

102: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>99

Looking at the internal materials of the collection, there might be new pictures, but since there are no lines, I still can’t quite understand the personality or background of the characters.

100: Japan Otaku Reviews

MVC2 has surprisingly seen some not-so-strong characters from the past being buffed.

Unfortunately, the top players were just too strong…

101: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

Fighting games have a character-based aspect, so not knowing what kind of character it is can significantly lower motivation to use it.

103: Japan Otaku Reviews

Schwarzeer and Supremacion have quite lawless performance to include in Street Fighter 6.

104: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx2

I love it, but when it comes to wanting a game like Street Fighter 6…

I was reminded of the sky pirate character from KOF.

105: Japan Otaku Reviews

I thought it was the character of a power stone…

107: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx2

If they release Street Fighter 6, they’ll say there are more characters that should come before this one.

108: Japan Otaku Reviews

If only this were strong.

109: Japan Otaku ReviewsYeahx1

It’s unclear whether showing anger in response to such remarks is even possible.

110: Japan Otaku Reviews

Why did you add the original character even though there’s barely any space?

113: Japan Otaku Reviews

>>110

I think it’s because the original final boss is appearing.

It was an original protagonist in contrast to that, but everything ended up being a mystery.

I somewhat understand that a pirate ship traveling through time and space is something like that.

111: Japan Otaku Reviews

It was really fun and lively, except that the upper level was just too strong, Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

The thread image is a trap-setting fighter, and it was fun to apply debuffs as a ghost.

112: Japan Otaku Reviews

I jerked off to SonSon, but this one didn’t resonate with me at all.

114: Japan Otaku Reviews

The synopsis says that the final boss is evil, so is Abyss explained better than that…?
